STAPA believe Violence against Women and Girls to help break the silence around this scandal and create a world where women and girls are afforded their basic women human rights. With this program, STAPA will show that the right of women and girls to be free from violence is integral to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As long as violence against women and girls continues, the promise of human rights can never be fulfilled. Socially constructed roles too often thwart the potential of women and girls in every district in rural and urban location in the Indonesia. STAPA believe that discrimination denies them health care and education for example. Discrimination robs girls and women of the the power to make decisions, to earn a living and to be free from violence, abuse and exploitation. Often it deprives them of any legal protection. STAPA is committed to leveling the playing field for women and girls by ensuring that all women and girls have equal opportunity to develop their talents.
For example in Lumajang, STAPA work to ensure that all babies receive the best start to life through gender-sensitive, integrated early childhood care. We work so that all women and girls are afforded quality education, one that prepares them for a productive life. By recognizing and addressing discrimination against women and girls, success in the fight against all forms of discrimination — class, race, ethnicity and age — will become more likely, and more lasting. We have learned that entire societies develop when women and girls are enabled to be fully contributing community members. Women, Girls and Violence program is the our urgent program for next 5 years, the STAPA women, girls and violence program focus with issues : trafficking in flesh trade, disaster situations and trafficking with sexual purpose, CEDAW monitoring, domestic violence and women with dis[ability] also our main concern. Lumajang, Sidoarjo and Pasuruan is our main focus district this issues. STAPA is actively helping to reduce gender violence, its impact on the vulnerable and the impunity of its perpetrators, We support global campaign “Ending Impunity for Violence against Women and Girls” that the theme chosen by the United Nations.
